(CDC) Statement:

In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks (e.g., bandana, scarf) for care of patients with COVID-19 as a last resort. However, homemade masks are not considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown. Caution should be exercised when considering this option. Homemade masks should ideally be used in combination with a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face.

Face Mask

— Sewing Pattern —

This mask IS NOT meant to be a replacement for N95 Respirators or surgical masks against the COVID-19 Virus, but at this moment the CDC even suggests bandanas. (Please read below)

We favor the form of this particular mask and would like to share this pattern with anyone who is interested in donating these masks for health care professionals who are in dire need, or making them for family & friends.

PLEASE check with local hospitals first. Some require specific materials, patterns, etc..

We also want to emphasize that we do not gain anything from this. We are doing this only to help healthcare workers and anyone else in need. We are not affiliated with Craft Passion, who made this pattern and tutorial, and also provides both for free.

For personal use only!

Many hospitals and clinics are running out of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Hashtags like #GetMePPE and #WeNeedPPE are trending and also on Facebook, hospitals are putting out public calls for reusable masks, that can be placed over N95 Respirators, to prolonge their usage.

Health providers are working scared.
